Parts & Labor Crew

  • Meaghan Ritchey

Originally from El Paso, TX, Meaghan recently moved to San Antonio after living in NYC for eighteen years. Having worked for a variety of arts non-profits, family foundations, and arts & culture magazines, she’s played a critical role in building active engagement between organizations and their audiences. She has planned international arts conferences, multi-day workshops and training events, intimate dinners in experimental venues, artist salons, art auctions, and over thirty exhibitions. She loves finding resources to help entrepreneurial creatives flourish in their work.

  • Liz Stehl Kleberg

Hailing from Virginia, Liz lives in San Antonio with her husband Matt and their two boys. There she makes art and operates Way Way Co., a line of children’s apparel manufactured in NYC and made from sustainably sourced materials. After earning their MFAs together at Pratt Institute, Liz and Tal Gilboa began an ongoing collaboration to create installations with video projection and sculpture. As a mother and artist, Liz is excited to provide the necessary support artists need as caretakers.

  • Matt Kleberg

The residency is facilitated at The Corner, the heart of a neighborhood of artists and arts appreciators, and the family home and studio space of Matt & Liz Kleberg.

Matt received his BA from the University of Virginia in 2008 and an MFA from Pratt Institute in 2015. He is represented by the Brussels gallery, Sorry We’re Closed, and Texas-based galleries, Pazda Butler and Barry Whistler. Kleberg has been exhibited across the world from New York to Amsterdam, and he has been featured in the likes of the New York Times, Vice, ArtDaily, and Hyperallergic. His work can be found in public and private collections including the Williams College Museum of Art, the Addison Gallery of American Art, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and the National Gallery of Art.

  • Michelle Allgood Welker

Originally from St. Louis, MO, Michelle fell in love with Texas while getting a BA in English Literature from UT Austin. She and her family now reside in San Antonio TX and they are honored to be part of the city’s vibrant arts community. Michelle is a social worker, therapist, creative, and co-host of Potluck and Poetry gatherings. Her family has regularly hosted artists in their backyard casita for many years and they are excited to work with Parts & Labor to create a space where artists can rest and have what they need to produce the work they want to give to the world.
